Ion -Solid Interactions and Energy Loss Phenomena The research activity of this group focuses on the study of the interaction of ions with solids at low energies. The main objective is to study experimentally the ion energy loss processes on metallics thin films. On the other hand, we study the electronic structure of metals from ab initio calculations and we have developed computational codes for simulate ion solid interactions with semiclassical approaches.
